Flexible Parallel Peptide Synthesis


Optimized reaction conditions make economic use of reagents and solvents feasible without compromising the quality of the peptides. A single probe picks up reagents and distributes them to the wells of the reaction module. Amino acid solutions are activated by adding activator and base in individual mixing vials before distribution. Reagents are held in the reaction wells by surface tension and are extracted by vacuum applied to the bottom of the reaction module. A manifold connected to a separate syringe drive is used to wash 12 wells at a time with solvent. The chemistry is optimized for Fmoc peptide synthesis with activation by PyBOP/NMM or a similar protocol.

The MultiPep is a versatile instrument which can be configured to different synthesis scales and modes with exchangeable modules for amino acid and reagent reservoirs as well as reaction plates. All configurations use the same operation software to facilitate the training for a new module.
