The
DigestPro MS automates any or all of the tedious manual steps like:
- washing of the gel slices
- reduction of disulfide bonds at 60°C
- alkylation of cysteine residues
- enzymatic digestion at 37°C
- elution of the peptides from the gel matrix
In addition, the subsequent steps of sample preparation for MALDI mass spectrometry are also automated by the DigestPro MS. The instrument is compatible with the MALDI plates of different manufacturers and can be adapted to new plates introduced in the market. Several sample preparation protocols are predefined, such as
- deposition of matrix solution and samples
- preparation of sandwich spots
- desalting and concentration with Millipore ZipTips
- loading of samples on Bruker Anchor plates
The DigestPro MS has been discontinued in 2008.
